Academic Research

My research is at the confluence of international business, global leadership, and strategic management. The ultimate goal of my research is to understand how organizations can take full advantage of multilinguals (i.e., individuals who speak multiple languages) and multiculturals (i.e., individuals who have experienced and internalized two or more cultures) and how these individuals can leverage their strengths in an organizational setting. My research has been published in International Business Review, European Journal of International Management, Thunderbird International Business Review, Multinational Business Review, Advances in Global Leadership, and Critical Perspectives on International Business. In 2020, my coauthors and I were awarded the Alan M. Rugman Young Scholar Award by the Academy of International Business for our study on the role of linguistic diversity and boundary spanners in multicultural teams in MNCs in Latin America. I am an active member of the GLOBE 2020 project, leading data collection in Poland, Mexico, and Russia.

I am a Senior Editor at the European Journal of International Management (EJIM) and Editorial Board Member at the Journal of Eastern European and Central Asian Research (JEECAR). I review ad hoc for the International Business Review, International Journal of Emerging Markets, and other academic journals.

Teaching

Currently, I am Assistant Professor of Strategy at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

I began my teaching career in Canada, where I worked as a lecturer at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business. In 2017 I was offered an academic position as a research professor of international business at EGADE Business School (Mexico). Three years later I moved back to Europe and joined the Skolkovo team.

I teach courses courses related to strategic management, international business and cross-cultural management at all levels of education (MBA, Executive MBA, Master’s, undergrad, Ph.D.).

Speaking & Consulting

I've had a pleasure to speak at numerous conferences where I presented the results of my research, including Academy of International Business (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021), Academy of Management (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021), Western Academy of Management (2016, 2017), Talent Land Guadalajara (2019), and Coparmex Summit (2018).

While in Mexico, I have consulted large multinational companies and educational institutions on their human resource management policies and strategy formulation.

In my free time I advise start-ups how they can take implement in their products and services results of academic researches. I am trying to create a link between management theory and practice.
